Welcome to my blog! Curious about the name? Read this post to find out why. As you’ll see, my love of books and writing started at a very young age.
I studied linguistics as an undergrad — I have always been fascinated by words and language — and went to graduate school for an MBA with a concentration in marketing. Most of my career has been in this field, and writing has always been a component.
I also love to cook and bake. For several years I co-owned a catering firm, Fete Accomplie, with my dear friend Alyse. It was great fun cooking up fancy dinners for 50, but as Alyse and I approached middle age we realized our aching backs were telling us “enough is enough.” So we moved on, although we still love to entertain family and friends.
For the last six years I have been the director of marketing and university relations on a college campus outside of Philadelphia. I love my job and the people I work with. It’s great when you can look forward to going to work every day.
In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my husband and family. No grandchildren yet (hint, hint Evan, Emily and Laurie) but we have the most scrumptious dog, Duncan, and cat, Zoe. Not quite the same but at least we hear the pitter patter of little feet around the house.
Ever since I can remember, I have dreamed of writing a novel, and I hope this blog will get the wheels turning.
